Projects
The Province of Milan has pledged to further Gender Budgeting into the Councils, offering all the administrators a decision tool which allows them to interpret their own territory in gender terms, and offering also awareness of the effects of the economic and social political choices as regards to women and men.
The Gender Policy Service, together with the Counsellor for Equal Opportunity, has supported a project with the following actions:
♦ to test gender budgeting in some Councils of the province of Milan;
♦ to make the interested Councils aware by training them, in order to transfer the necessary expertise;
♦ to inform all the Councils by editing a Handbook (free download available online) featuring the guidelines to give a gender assessment of the budget.
