Projects PROJECTS AGAINST VIOLENCE
Since a few years the Province of Milan has started cooperating with the female associations and the antiviolence centres active on the provincial territory to fight violence, abuse and women mistreatment. This cooperation implies a path aimed at the awareness of the phenomenon and its diffusion in the territory, the gathering of data and information, the comparison on difficulties and experiences, and the setting of possible targeted interventions.
Targets and main recipients of the actions:
♦ to awaken citizens and institutions: art and photo exhibitions, shows and plays, public events, lectures, researches, illustrations about antiviolence centres, advertising campaign, bookmarks, etc.;
♦ to educate young people and adults to new relationships between genders: awareness paths for educators, teachers and students by making specific tools (video/documentaries, White Ribbon National Campaign handbook, posters and postcards);
♦ to train operators, professional and non: specific workshops (how to spot the signs of abuse in children and adults, how to intervene in case of abuse, the roll of school), handbooks and information guides (e.g. Guidelines for first aid operators), etc..
♦ to build a network of antiviolence centres to collect and screen the data about violence.
Every year the Province of Milan pledges to spread and support the White Ribbon Campaign.
