Introduction and Reference
To look at the world in a gender perspective is useful to fight social inequalities and cultural stereotypes, which still prevent women from expressing talents and potential.
Each woman is fundamental in the development of the Country. Enhancing the decisional roll of women, supporting their integration into society, whether in the labour market, politics, or the research field, is an essential step to build a fairer, freer and stronger world.
Europe is committed to improving the life of women.
With the “Gender Equality European Deal”, in 2006 the European Council spotted the strategies to fight gender stereotypes, to support women in the balancing of work and family responsibilities, to consolidate female presence in decision-making places.
Two key actions: To put gender perspective inside all the political processes (mainstreaming), To strengthen the power of women through participation in the decision-making processes (empowerment).
The Province of Milan, by means of the Gender Policy, fields projects, resources and services to support women in all the aspects of life.
